In the wake of 600,000 students receiving their GCSE results yesterday at least twenty will soon be celebrating. Esh Group has revealed the names of twenty students who have been rewarded with offers of permanent jobs having successfully completed the much acclaimed ‘Fit for Employment’ work-related learning training programme and gained the necessary results in their GCSEs. Each student has been offered the opportunity to join a company within Esh Group and begin training on the Modern Apprenticeship scheme; their planned start date is 5 September.
The announcement comes ahead of next Tuesday’s (30 August) ‘Opening Doors’ event which will be hosted by Esh Group. Part of a national series, the Durham date is the first to take place outside of London. The events, which are organised by Business in the Community (BITC) and sponsored by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM), aim to introduce ideas and develop understanding amongst regional companies as to how they can contribute to economic and social regeneration. Some of the successful students who have accepted their offers will attend this event.
Esh Group, which recently became the National Example of Excellence for its innovative “Fit for Employment” programme, will be revealing the secrets of its success by sharing best practice and outlining how the project has been developed and delivered to leaders of some of the North East’s biggest firms.
