1888 – 21 year old Stephen Easten sets up a building business

1906 – Stephen Easten became a limited company

1906+ The first half of the 20th century saw the company provide many examples of building expertise in Newcastle including the construction of Milburn House in Dean Street, Carliol House in Market Street and the Newcastle University Union Building

1928 – Stephen Easten is Lord Mayor of Newcastle and welcomes King George and Queen Mary to Newcastle for the opening of the Tyne Bridge

1950+ The company moved into the entertainment field carrying out major cinema conversions for the Rank Organisation throughout the UK.

1960 + The company formed close relationships with BHS and Binns Stores carrying out store refurbishments throughout the UK.

1980+ Saw Stephen Easten Ltd carrying out the reconstruction of North Tyneside College, the major refurbishment of Cross House and the restoration of Alderman Fenwicks House which won Newcastle City Councils Special Conservation Award

2006 – In its centenary year Stephen Easten Ltd became part of the Esh Group – The largest indigenous construction group operating in the North East of England and continue to carry out specialist refurbishments and building works to historic and listed building throughout the region
